Diet and stomach cancer; Treat and prevent cancer through diet


It has proved that diet is the principle factor in the etiology of gastric edenocarcinoma or stomach cancer. There are many people in world who are suffering from stomach cancer and it causes so many deaths around the world. Hover, stomach cancer can be treated and also prevented using diet.

It has been proved that an excessive consumption of salt leads to an increase of bacteria in the stomach. These act by transforming food nitrates into nitrites, which when combined with the amines and urea present in the digestive track will produce nitrosamines and nitrosureas which are recognised as being carcinogenic or cancer causing.

Stomach cancer is also related to the abundant use of smoked and highly seasoned meat and fish.

Another cause of stomach cancer that has been investigated is the lack of certain vitamins in the body which play an extensive protection role against stomach cancer.

Vitamin A, in its pro vitamin form (carotene) inhibits the formation of free radicals which play an important function in the formation of tumours

Among its many other activities, Vitamin C also has the role of thwarting the transformation of nitrates into nitrites and nitrosamines which help to prevent cancer.

Vitamin E also acts as an anti oxidant, which protects cells from digestive changes which may pave way for cancer.

It is therefore very possible to prevent or even treat stomach cancer with a good diet
